The market bag is drying on the rack (that sounds so much more professional than “my son’s plastic toy shopping basket balanced precariously on top of his plastic toy microphone stand).
It’s almost there, and it looks like the re-felting worked! (I ran it two more times through – for a total of four complete “quick wash” hot-cold cycles.)

It’s weird, though – I deliberately used the same type of yarn for the green and yellow so they would felt the same, but I think that the stitching must matter because the sides are definitely more felted than the bottom. I’m already planning to do another one – making the sides and handles longer.
Felting is full of serendipity. (Which is another way of saying “I have absolutely no control over how this is going to turn out.”)
Sometimes the dyes used affect the felting process as much as the fibers used. It’s all a crapshoot…

Hi, your mom sent me! Great bag! One of the good things about felting is that it can hide a multitude of mistakes. (Ask me how I know.) For a beginning knitter, you are very adventurous — Kitchener, knitting in the round, and other things I don’t remember but which amazed me when I read your posts. Rock on!

Nice job on the felting. Felting can be a lot of fun as long as you’re willing to accept lots of unpredictability. Sort of like life in general.

Ditto on the “your mom sent me”. You’re doing really well with your knitting. Color can definitely affect a lot of aspects of knitting, felting included. You may find that it affects the diameter of the yarn, which in turn will affect your gauge.
