cabbage pancakes (okonomiyaki)
main | asian cabbage fried japanese vegetable vegetarian2 eggs
1/2 cup water
1 1/2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tbsp. sesame oil
1/4 tsp. black pepper
- whisk until smooth
3/4 cup flour
- mix in to make a smooth, thick batter
8 oz. (about 4 cups) shredded cabbage
4 baby carrots, grated
2 shallots, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
- add to batter a mix to coat
2 tbsp. oil
- heat 1/2 tbsp. oil in a skillet
- drop 1/2 cup of batter at a time and flatten to make a pancake
- fry on each side until browned (3-5 minutes per side)
sauce:
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. hot sauce
- mix until smooth and serve as a sauce or drizzle over pancakes
