Meatballs
main | beef ingredients italian1 cup bread chunks
½ onion, grated
1 egg, beaten
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp. parsley
1 tsp. basil
½ tsp. oregano
½ tsp. thyme
¼ tsp. crushed red pepper
salt and pepper
1½ lbs. ground beef
2 Tbsp. olive oil
- Mix bread and onion in a large bowl, then soak for a minute
- Add egg, garlic, and spices and mix well
- Crumble raw beef into mixture and mix with hands until just combined
- Form into golf-ball-sized balls
- Brown meatballs over medium heat, carefully turning to brown all sides
- Simmer in pasta sauce to finish cooking, or bake at 400°F for 18-20 minutes
