4 oz. butter (one stick)
1 cup cocoa powder
4 cups powdered sugar
2/3 cup cream
2 tsp. vanilla

  • melt butter and mix in cocoa to make a paste
  • transfer cocoa paste to a stand mixer
  • mix in powdered sugar and cream in alternating additions
  • add vanilla then mix for 5 minutes

yield: frosting for two dozen cupcakes
