3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder

  • mix in medium bowl and set aside

3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup butter
2 tbsp. water
1 cup (6 oz.) chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla

  • combine sugar, butter, and water in a saucepan and bring to boil
  • remove from heat and add chocolate chips and vanilla
  • transfer to a mixing bowl and let cool 5 minutes

2 eggs

  • beat in eggs one at a time, then gradually add flour mixture
  • pour into greased and foil-lined 8x8 baking pan
  • bake at 350°F for 30-40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean

9/29/23: made these yesterday and they were deeply weird — almost completely black instead of chocolate brown. i suspect they need a fair bit more butter and flour.

9/30/23: Andrea sent me her recipe, so i’m switching to that

4/21/24: these were way to cakey and dry — not sure if i did something wrong or if Andrea has a different idea of what brownies should be like.
