6 Tbsp. butter

  • Slice into baking dish, and melt in oven while pre-heating

1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 cup milk

  • Mix well, pour into butter, and spread to make an even layer

1 qt. canned peaches, undrained
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
cinnamon

  • Mix well, spoon over batter, and dust with cinnamon
  • Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes, and serve warm

08/21/2022: made with these changes:

  • made in 8-10 oz. ramekins and reduced baking time to 25 minutes
  • used fresh peaches (peeled by blanching, then sliced thin)
  • in peach mixture, used 1/4 cup each of white and brown sugar
  • omitted cinnamon, and dusted some ramekins with cinnamon sugar (2 Tbsp. sugar and 1 tsp. cinnamon)
